Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a Keratin Treatment?

A: A Keratin treatment is a smoothing treatment that seals the cuticle with a coating of protein, eliminating frizz. Keratin treatments reduce blow-drying time and increase shine and softness.

Q: How is the Keratin treatment performed?

A: We wash the hair thoroughly with a clarifying shampoo, the Keratin solution is then applied, the hair is finally blow-dried and flat ironed.

Q: How long does a Keratin treatment take?

A: Depending on the length and density of your hair the process will take approximately 3 hours.

Q: Will the Keratin treatment damage my hair?

A: Absolutely not! It’s actually the opposite. Keratin is a protein that helps strengthen the hair to prevent breakage, heat damage, and frizz.

Q: How long with the Keratin treatment last?

A: Typically Keratin treatments last somewhere in between 3-5 months. To extend the longevity of the treatment it is highly suggested to use the Keratin shampoo and conditioner.

Q: Can I use any shampoo and conditioner?
A: It is highly recommended to only use the Keratin Complex shampoo and conditioner after treatment for the best results. It is specifically designed to ensure the longevity of the Keratin Treatment.

Q: Do I really need to wait 3 days before washing my hair?

A: Yes! As tempting as it may be, don’t wash. The keratin continues to work on your hair for 3 days.  If you do so you may lose the effects of the treatment.

Q: What is the difference between a keratin treatment and a Brazilian blowout?

A: Both are smoothing treatments used to eliminate frizz and smooth the hair.  However, Keratin contains less harsh ingredients that may weigh the hair down compared to the Brazilian Blowout.
