Prevent & Repair Heat Damaged Hair
1. Apply a Heat Protectant
A heat protectant prevents heat damage by creating a barrier between your hair and the heat. Try our favorite, the Unite 7seconds detangler, which doubles as a heat protectant and a leave-in conditioner, creating less friction and breakage while brushing.
2. Low Heat on Styling Tools
For most hair types 150-200 degrees is adequate. Some thicker courser hair types may require 300 degrees. Anything over 400 will damage your hair.
3. Trim your Hair Often
It is important to trim your hair so it is healthy and not prone to breakage and heat damage. Every 8-12 weeks is recommended.
4. Use a Hair Mask
Introduce a hair mask into your beauty regime. Use 1-2 times a week to lock in moisture and protect your hair from heat styling tools.
5. Invest in a Good Quality Hairdryer
The better the quality, the quicker it will take to dry your hair. Less time, less heat, less damage!
